Remember Mr. X the out of town voter? Even his own mother openly states that Mr X lives in Oak Brook! He voted in Elmhurst AGAIN in spite of being on several boards and committees in Elmhurst that promote Character Counts.
When the adults in the community lack a moral compass and the courage to follow it, will our children and teens view Character Counts as a meaningful program? Does character only count when it works to our advantage?
Character Counts
Pillar One TRUSTWORTHINESS
Be honest. Don't deceive, cheat or steal. Be reliable -- do what you say you'll do. Have the courage to do the right thing. Build a good reputation. Be loyal -- stand by your family, friends and country.
Pillar Six CITIZENSHIP
Do your share to make your school and community better. Cooperate. Get involved in comunity affairs. Stay informed; vote. Be a good neighbor. Obey laws and rules. Respect authority. Protect the environment.
